Ester Viviani Giaretta

Ester Viviani Giaretta is an actress and singer from Padua.  Over time she has been seen in the repertory of Pirandello, De Filippo, Goldoni and other contemporary authors.  She has staged, and acted in, various shows, some inspired by the life of famous female singers, others by personages who have been important in Italian or Paduan life in particular.  With the aim of recovering a musical heritage which is disappearing, as well as for instructional purposes, she stages, with considerable success, revivals of the most famous operettas.  With Paduan photographers she stages a show of music and pictures dedicated to Padua, its history and its famous personages.

She has taken part in the show Tra le pieghe della P2.  Potere e Paillettes in un’Italia senza memoria by Anna Vinci, inspired by the life of Tina Anselmi, an important political personality in republican Italy.  At this time Ester Viviani is touring with the show Storie della Italia – Il Ventennio visto dal basso by Daniele Alfonsi, a story of the life of a girl – whose name is Italia – who grows up in Padua during the Fascist period.

Ester Viviani Giaretta has lent her voice to Francesca da Rimini and read the relevant verses (82-142) in the translation into Paduan dialect by Emanuele Munari.
